Painting Workshops 2009

In February I published my 2009 Art Workshops programme.  I've introduced new workshops (Portrait, Still Life etc), new formats (Two Day Weekends), and a simple guide for those interested so they can be sure they're on the right level course for them (Beginner; Intermediate or Advanced).

See the News Section on my Home Page for the current status of Places Available on each workshop.

If your preferred workshop is full, please email me your requirements and if there's a cancellation I'll contact all requests in 'date received' order.

I have been more than encouraged by the initial response - Two of the workshops are already full, and the others have begun booking.  This is great as it gives me encouragement for all the preparation I put into the workshops, and I so look forward to meeting everyone again - it's like one big happy family.

Click on the Tabs at left for details of the Workshops of your choice, and to check what Level of Ability you're likely to be regarding my workshops. They're only a general guide so if in any doubt, just ring me.

If you're interested in any type of painting workshops, please email me by clicking on the contact line below or call me on 087  2597682.

Thanks to all for your support.

RESERVATIONS AND BOOKINGS – Terms and Conditions

Art Equipment and Materials   In my studio, studio easels/workbenches are available to everyone.  However, I don’t supply personal art materials or outdoor equipment.  There are simply too many choices and too many individual differences for it to be practical.  It would also add to the workshop costs unnecessarily. When your deposit is received, I will send you a detailed list of what you need for each type of workshop and you choose what to buy from the recommended list. I also give specific recommendations for Beginners.  If in doubt, follow my recommendations.

Rental of Art Equipment    I have a limited number of simple outdoor easels and folding chairs and low, small tables available for hire should you need them.  Please ensure you book them well in advance.

Accommodation and lunches are organized by the participants but on receipt of your deposit you will receive details of local B&B and hotel facilities available.  For studio based workshops, in 2009 I hope to negotiate the supply of lunches from a local high quality café in Cong at a reasonable price.  Also, some B&Bs may provide packed lunches but there are also local shops where light lunch provisions can be purchased.  So you should have an even better choice in 2009.

Reservations and Bookings – 1,2,3 Steps  Because my classes have been very popular, and places are strictly limited, 12 max on outdoor-based workshops, 10 max on studio-based workshops, please

1) contact me first, to confirm there is a place available, or for further information.  Then,

2) on payment of your deposit or full payment, I will write or e-mail you to Reserve your place.  A deposit of €100 is required to secure a place.  I will send you Accomodation choices and Materials required for the workshop at this stage.

3) the Balance must be paid by 4 weeks before the course starts, when I will Confirm your booking.

I will try to contact those who've not fully paid by the due date, but failing this, if payment of the balance outstanding is not received by this date, I reserve the right to withdraw and re-allocate the Reserved place with full repayment of any deposit already paid.  I'm afraid I must enforce this 4-week full payment condition in 2009, as I had several very late cancellations last year.

Participant Cancellations before that date will receive deposit back in full; after that date and up to two weeks prior, 50% returned; thereafter no refund and no credit is possible unless I secure a replacement participant.  In that case, I will refund the amount deposited.

Workshop Cancellations   I have to reserve the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient bookings up to the ‘4 weeks before start’ date or for some other reason that might jeopardize the quality of the workshop.  So far, no workshops have ever been postponed or cancelled for any reason, but if for any unforeseen reason, I am personally unable to run the course as scheduled, I will either offer a suitable replacement tutor for these dates or refund all monies paid, or if you prefer, you can reserve your place on the next suitable workshop being run by me.

Please note that I cannot be held responsible for any other costs incurred by intending students, such as travel or accommodation costs, in the event of a course cancellation or postponement.
